My name is Mo. Here's my story: I've been in the painting and decorating business for most of my life.

At the age of 16, I began working at my father's paints shop in Iraq, where I advised customers on the best paints and colours for their projects. Painting and decorating was something I've done many times over the years, starting with my own family home and progressing to the homes and businesses of my friends and neighbours.

I was able to differentiate my company from the competition by combining my experience and expertise with a high level of care and attention to detail.

Our country was threatened by war in 2003, and as a result, my family and I had to flee. This meant that I had to leave my well-established business and relocate to Jordan, where I was able to work as a construction worker to support my family financially.

For the sake of my children's future, I finally made the difficult decision to relocate to France. Even though learning French was a challenge for me, I was fortunate enough to land a job in the construction industry that allowed me to travel throughout France and work on a variety of projects, from private residences to brand-new construction sites. After living in France for nearly five years, I decided to relocate to England to be closer to my ageing mother.

I was lucky to be hired by a construction company here in the UK as a Site Supervisor, in charge of supervising the painting crew.

To pursue my long-held dream of owning and operating a painting business that puts the client's needs first and provides high-end painting service regardless of their budget, my son and I have started UA Painting in October 2018.
